Update on Kate, Derek & Baby Jones

Many big changes occurred in the Spring of this year. Around the time we were making decisions about postponing programming due to COVID-19, our Board of Directors Vice President, Kate Jones, found out that she and husband Derek were expecting a baby. Then in June, Scott Pankow, our Board of Directors President, had a job opportunity that would take him and his family to Craig, CO.

This, of course, meant that Kate would move from VP to President. With a mindset for innovation and zeal for the arts, Kate stepped into the President role without missing a beat. Not only was she able to fulfill that role, but she also became our Programming Director over the course of the summer. 

As the year progressed all went well with her pregnancy. With all the protocols we had in place at The Wright, Kate and Baby Jones remained healthy all year. Their due date was November 26...that’s right - Thanksgiving Day! We all knew that we had a miracle to be thankful for this year but, alas, Turkey Day came and went without a Special Delivery. 

The full moon made its appearance on the night of November 30th. Kate just knew that she would go into labor that evening, and what do you know? She did! Sweet Nina Moon Jones was born on December 1, 2020 weighing 7lbs. 2oz and measuring 18.5” long.
