The Art of the Ouray International Film Festival

On display in The Wright Opera House Tavern May 30-June 22
The "Art of the Ouray International Film Festival" is a celebration of artists from Ouray and Ukraine. Cultivating both local and international art is a priority of the festival. The films we screen each summer reflect content and issues related to the state of Colorado, our nation, and our globe. We hope you reflect on these pieces and connect them to the cinematic works we screen. Please note Viktor Khmil and the Ouray International Film Festival will be donating all proceeds to Ukraine from any of the six Ukrainian pieces sold.

Featuring work by Viktor Khmil

Featuring work by Keaton Nelson

Keaton Nelson is a 16 year old, self-taught, young artist who specializes in acrylic pours and digital art. He’s been dabbling in mixed media, block printing, watercolor, and has painted murals for Ouray High School. Keaton began sketching when he was two years old and developed a love of all art forms. His original passion is pencil and charcoal work, cartooning, and still life.

Keaton was the student artist for The Ouray International Film Festival the past two years and has entered his acrylic pours and mixed media in four local art shows. Keaton’s future plans include continuing his art journey in different mediums. He would like to attend the Kansas City Art Institute or California Institute of the Arts to become a Disney Animator.

Thank you for supporting this young, local artist.
