Hello, my name is Paula Hayes. I lived, raised 3 daughters, and ran a business right here in Ouray Colorado for a quarter of a century. I, like many of you, have left my footprints on the trails and paths of these mountains. This place will forever be a sanctuary for my heart!
In March of 2020 after losing the work I had been doing for the last couple of years. I took a personal inventory, and decided to start (or should I say, get back to) expressing my love of nature through art! So, I bought some paint and canvases and began. Luckily there was a creative surge flowing…
My inspirations come from the natural world, the documentaries "My Octopus Teacher" and "Fantastic Fungi," and current world events. I use bright acrylic colors on canvas and wood. I often start with a circle - circle of life, sun, moon, galaxies, black holes, bubbles. They draw me in and make me feel happy! The common themes are transformation, looking within, and dream time. I have certainly been on my own healing journey…
I am so happy to share my whimsical imagination with you. I hope you will enjoy this show and allow yourself to be drawn in too.
