Acting classes teach a variety of skills and traits that benefit students, from children to adults, in countless other parts of their lives. Confidence, public speaking, teamwork, poise, conversation, understanding viewpoints. All life long skills cultivated through acting.
By utilizing improv, students learn to unlock the ability to respond spontaneously to a person, place and environment. Improv puts the students in unplanned and unscripted scenes and they in essence create a scene with their partners using teamwork. For the non actor this helps in building confidence such as for public speaking or confidence in a job interview.
Cold Reading provides a necessary tool in any actor's toolkit. Cold reading is the ability to take a script never read before and provide a meaningful interpretation and performance. For the non actor, this could relate to problem solving in a workplace.
Scene study is the art of analyzing a scene and working out what is needed to really bring the script to life. Such was who are the characters, where are they, why are they there, and what is time era. For the non actor this helps build the skill of attention to detail.
Cost for the course is $175. Sign up for the course on the Wright website or mail a check to:
