WOH Art Show: Melissa Demuth

Dec 1 - Jan 10
On display in the Wright Tavern

I’m Melissa Demuth, and I’ve been an artist all my life. There is not a moment when I’m not creating with my hands or planning in my imagination. I thrive on all art… literally all art - painting, drawing, photography, fiber arts, costuming, ceramics, wood, metal, jewelry, printmaking, sculpture - I create in every medium I can get my hands on. I fill every day with art as Ouray School’s Art Teacher, which is the best job in the whole world. My students are K-12 and they make every moment of every day amazing. I have a strong, supportive husband, and two creatively motivated children. They allow me to FILL our home with my creative excess and I am so, so grateful for them.
This series of paintings takes the viewer into my love of the outdoors. The show features a limited paint palette, reduced and meaningful brush strokes, and a glimpse into how I see the world through art.
